By a margin of 15-3, the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, on Tuesday, voted for legislation that would allow the United States to overtly supply arms to Syrian rebel forces. Up until now, we have been led to believe that our government has provided only non-lethal aid in the two year old conflict. And speaking of non-lethal aid, it was just last month that Secretary of State Kerry said the U.S. was prepared to increase the amount of the aforementioned assistance to $250M!

On May 4th of this year, an awards ceremony was held on the grounds of the 24th Marine Regiment in Kansas City Mo. Robert L. Rimpson, a PFC in the Marine Corps during the Vietnam War, was awarded the Bronze Star for his actions during Operation Starlite.
The genesis of Operation Starlite came from information provided by an enemy defector. In August of 1965, the commander of South Vietnamese forces in I Corps, Major General Nguyen Chanh Thi, met with Lieutenant General Lewis Walt, commander of Marine forces serving in Vietnam.
What is Ansar al-Sharia? Simply stated, Ansar al-Sharia (AAS) is an Islamist terror organization and the prime suspect in the September 11, 2012 attacks on the American consulate in Benghazi. Four Americans, including our Ambassador to Libya were killed in the attack, and the consulate building was destroyed.
Last week The New York Times reported that the CIA has been delivering large sums of cash to the Karzai led government of Afghanistan. The sum of the payments, which have been ongoing for the last ten years, is said to be in the tens of millions of dollars. The U.S. currency is packed in suitcases, plastic bags or backpacks and delivered to members of Karzai's administration on a regular basis.
